Easy loop walk, suitable for the whole family. The Sunny Valley – Laghetto dell’Alpe circuit is the most popular trekking route in Valfurva because it is scenic and relaxing.
It starts from the Sunny Valley hut and in half an hour of leisurely walking you will reach the Alpe Pond (located at 2752 m above sea level). Here you can take a refreshing break and admire the deep green color of the waters of the Alpe Pond; a real treat for the eyes.
Once you’ve recovered your energy, you’re ready to get back on the road true to Sunny Valley to enjoy a relaxing afternoon in the sun at the lodge’s brand new sun deck.

A trekking excursion to discover the majesty of the Canyon
and the historical-naturalistic curiosities of the Edelweiss Cave

Circular route starting and finishing at Sunny Valley , an enchanting plateau, sunny both in summer and winter, crowned by the most important peaks of the Alta Valtellina, including Pizzo Tresèro and Cima Sobretta .
The trail, suitable for trekking, is of medium difficulty with some steep downhill sections (S564)
The itinerary of approximately 3.5 km can be covered in just over an hour .
During the trek, you can admire the magnificent rocky Valfurva Canyon, carved by the Alpine stream , and the beautiful Edelweiss cave , named after the edelweiss flowers that grow in abundance on the slopes of the meadows around the rocky ravines.
The cave preserves evidence of human habitation since the Mesolithic age, with the most recent boulders carved by shepherds transhumance between Val Camonica and Valtellina.
Thanks to the Sunny Valley – Canyon – Edelweiss Cave trekking circuit, you can spend a day outdoors enjoying the natural beauty , enriched by historical curiosities and, above all, the authentic flavors of lunch at the refuge.
